Kenhardt solar and battery storage project

H1 Holdings is proud to be a partner in one of the world’s largest solar and battery storage projects, the RMIPPP Kenhardt projects in the Northern Cape. H1 is a 49% shareholder in the large-scale solar hybrid storage project and will work with project company, Scatec, on the Operations and Management of the plants. The Kenhardt projects are the first projects to be commissioned under the emergency Risk Mitigation Independent Power Procurement Programme. Kenhardt 1,2 and 3 have an installed solar PV capacity of 540MW and battery storage capacity of 225MW/1 140MWh. The projects will supply 150MW dispatchable power to the grid from 05:00 to 21:30 once it is operational. Kenhardt is the largest solar and battery storage project in Africa. When built, it will be four times the size of the Cape Town stadium and will include about two million solar PV modules.
