Our Origins
H1 Holdings was founded in 2002 by Lionel Jacobs and Reyburn Hendricks as an investment vehicle to participate in Black Economic Empowerment transactions and to provide growth capital for companies in South Africa. Reyburn began managing H1 Holdings on a full-time basis from 2008. In 2010, Reyburn and Lionel made a decision to focus on the emerging renewable energy sector in South Africa. In 2012, H1 Holdings made its first investment in the renewable energy industry. Since then, H1 Holdings has dedicated itself to growing a team and using its balance sheet to build platforms and businesses that advance the energy transition.
