Last updated: 30 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how H1 Holdings Pty Ltd ("H1", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit our website at www.h1holdings.co or interact with us through it. H1 is committed to the responsible handling of personal information in accordance with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), 2013, and applicable provisions of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where they apply.

Who We Are

H1 Holdings Pty Ltd is the responsible party (controller) for personal information collected through this Site. Our registered office is at 5th Floor, Letterstedt House, Newlands on Main, 13 Main Road, Newlands, Cape Town, 7700, South Africa.

Information We Collect

Contact form submissions: when you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, telephone number (optional), subject category, and the content of your message. We collect this so that we can respond to your enquiry. Browsing data: when you use the Site, we collect technical information automatically, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you visit on our Site, and the time spent on each page. This information is collected via cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy for detail). Analytics data: with your consent, we use a third-party analytics provider to understand aggregate usage patterns. The data collected is non-identifying. We do not collect special categories of personal information (for example, race, health, religious belief) through the Site.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to: (a) respond to enquiries you submit through the contact form; (b) operate, maintain, and improve the Site; (c) measure and analyse Site performance; (d) comply with legal and regulatory obligations; and (e) protect against fraud, security incidents, and misuse.

Legal Basis (GDPR)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: (a) legitimate interests in running, securing, and improving the Site, including basic technical analytics; (b) consent for any analytics or marketing cookies beyond what is strictly necessary; (c) performance of a request you initiate, such as when you submit the contact form; and (d) legal obligation where applicable.

Lawful Processing (POPIA)

Where POPIA applies, we process personal information lawfully on one or more of the following grounds: with your consent; to perform actions you have requested (such as responding to your enquiry); to comply with legal obligations; to protect a legitimate interest of yours or the responsible party; or for the proper performance of a public-law duty by a public body.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell personal information. We share personal information only with: (a) service providers (operators) acting on our behalf, including our website hosting provider, email delivery service, and analytics provider, each under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations; (b) professional advisers (legal, accounting, audit); (c) authorities or regulators where we are required by law to do so; and (d) acquirers or successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or restructuring of H1.

International Transfers

Our website and some of our service providers may be located outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred to a country that does not provide an equivalent level of protection, we put appropriate safeguards in place, including contractual data-protection commitments equivalent to those required under POPIA and GDPR.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with legal or regulatory requirements, or to defend legal claims. Contact form submissions are typically retained for up to 36 months from receipt, unless a longer retention period is required by law or the matter is ongoing.

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: (a) request access to the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information; (c) request deletion of personal information that we are no longer entitled to hold; (d) object to processing on grounds relating to your particular situation; (e) request restriction of processing in certain circumstances; (f) request portability of certain information you have provided to us; and (g) withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za) or, where GDPR applies, with the data protection authority in your country.

Security

We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No internet transmission or electronic storage is fully secure; however, we strive to apply commercially reasonable practices.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
